1. What subjects define as design or design-related?

Best With Less embraces and encourages creativity from as much academic disciplines as possible. All design or creative related disciplines and any subjects that involves structure modeling and material engineering are welcome. For example:

- Disciplines under the School of Design, such as product design, visual design and creative design.
- Disciplines under the School of Architecture.
- Related disciplines under the School of Engineering or School of Science, such as industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science/engineering.
- Disciplines under Business School or School of Arts that relates to Design, Innovation, Creativity, and Fine Art.

2. I am studying a half-time master’s program, can I participate in this competition?

Master's students may participate in this competition, but only full-time students are allowed.

3. Is it okay if the design or related subject member of my team is minoring the subject?

Yes.

4. Can I participate in this competition together with friends from other institutions?

Yes.

5. What do I have to do for the first round selection? When will the teams that pass the first round need to complete their model and exhibition designs?

The first round of selection require teams to submit a design proposal on 16th August. Teams that pass the first round will be able to participate in the exhibition, where they will showcase their design and model, preparation period will be from 23rd August to 19th September.

6. Can I seek advice and assistance from professors when preparing design proposals and models? Any format we need to follow regarding the proposals and models?  

Yes, but only guidance is allowed. Students are required to submit Idea Proposal in PDF format.

7. What is the main language for this competition?

Participants can participate in this competition in Cantonese, Mandarin or English, which includes the preparation of design proposals, preparing models and introducing the design at the exhibition.
