The "BEST with LESS Hong Kong Tertiary Food Industry Sustainable Packaging Design Competition" invites submissions of eco-friendly packaging solutions for containers and packaging used by Maxim's Group restaurants through a public contest at tertiary institutions. Selected outstanding designs may have the chance to be used by Maxim's Group brands.
Key Focus of This Year's Competition:
- Responding to Plastic Reduction: Initiating from sustainable source materials and eco-friendly product design, the competition aims to develop alternatives to plastic packaging that are environmentally-friendly, practical, and cost-effective.
- Co-create: Encouraging creativity, offering young people an opportunity to demonstrate and apply their ideas in real-world scenarios, and connecting different stakeholders to co-create sustainable products.
- Theory and Practice: Exploring how interdisciplinary knowledge can integrate theory and practice to provide new ESG perspectives for corporate plastic reduction and implement social responsibility.
- Industry-Academia Collaboration: For the first time, exploring an innovative model of collaboration between corporations and academic institutions, Maxim's Group, together with tertiary students and research institutions, brings new insights and perspectives on plastic reduction for Hong Kong society.
Competition Details:
- Registration Period: From now until June 14, 2024 (ends at 23:59)
- Format and Eligibility: Open to full-time Bachelor's or Master's degree students in Hong Kong; teams must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 members, which can be from different Hong Kong institutions. Team information can be submitted before the workshop begins.
- Participants are required to submit their creative plan (in PDF format) on time.
